Fishing at Big Woods

Designed and constructed to be an ideal bass habitat, two 40-acre impoundments located at the heart of the Big Woods Preserve are comparable to renowned bass lakes throughout North and Central America. 

Other species have a distinct function in the overall eco-chain of the lake, and the numerous populations exceed those that would occur naturally. The Big Woods staff constantly maintains these numbers with a proper balance of species, a periodic feeding program, and carefully managed water.

Big Woods has something for everyone regardless of his or her experience. While a novice will find it exciting to catch the quantity of fish that are available, the experienced angler will be challenged by the pursuit of trophy fish. Several 11-pounders plus have been hooked.

And Big Woods makes fishing as convenient and productive as possible for its members. Clean boats, charged batteries, and well-maintained trolling motors are available for easy access to both impoundments.
