I. Scheduling
Purpose- to insure the rights of each member are protected and that each member has the
opportunity to maximize the use of this facility in an uncrowded, peaceful atmosphere.Managements
Role- to organize, coordinate, and arbitrate the scheduling of this
facility.Reservations- Each member must call our office to "book" each activity at Big Woods
Fish & Game Preserve.

II. Bookings:
-
- Members may book Big Woods on a first come first serve
basis.
-
- Each member may only have one reservation on the books at a time unless one of them is over a
three month in advance booking.
-
- Overnight guest staying in the lodges must adhere to a departure time no later than 11:00A.M.
and an arrival time no earlier than 3:00P.M.
-
- Day fishermen will coordinate arrival and departures with the office as the schedule
permits.
-
- If no reservations have been received by 3:30p.m.on the proposed day of departure, a member may
elect to stay a second night and day upon availability and office confirmation.

- Members are allowed to make 2 day bookings if booking is made 3 weeks in advance.
-
- All members are to accompany their guests.
-
- Children have to be under supervision for safety and to prevent the disturbances for any other
members at the facility.
III. Guide Lines of facility usage
Purpose- to establish a set of common rules which will guide management as to
the type of facility we operate.
-
- The lodges are furnished with towels, linens, and kitchenware; however, each
member must wash dishes, and straighten up the lodge prior to departure.
-
- Members should respect the privacy of others and the facility both inside the lodge and
outside.
-
- Day time guest are urged to use the outside washroom and not the bathrooms in the
lodges.
-
- Rules on trash are simple, dispose of it properly in the dumpster located on the
property.
-
- Notice must be given to management if fire arms are to be brought on site.
-
- Hiking in the preserve is OK. However, inquire with management upon making
reservations
-
To be sure firearms will not be used by others on the premises.
- Levees are open to foot traffic until they become too wet. Please help take care of
them.

- Boats and motors are provided for members use.
-
(If any problems occur with the boats please notify staff or write down on
the comment boards in the buildings)
- Fishing from the wharves is permitted.
-
- Fishing from levees is not permitted unless there is a designated wharf/platform designed for
that purpose.
-
- Dogs and / or pets must be controlled by owner at all times. No dogs are allowed inside lodges.
(Members are responsible for all of their animals actions and picking up after them.)

Corporation Key Change Option
Rules are the same for all memberships with the exceptions of the
following:
Every corporate members are allowed specific designated users. These designated users can be
changed one time with written notice and board approval.
III. House Rules for Boats & Fishing
-
- All fish will be on a catch and release basis only, unless otherwise advised by Big Woods
management.
-
- Ice Chest checks will be done on routine basis.
-
- We ask all barbs be removed or crimped down on all hooks. No more than two treble hooks are
allowed on one lure.
-
- Try to keep fish in the water when removing hooks.
-
- Do not weigh fish except by tying a loop in the line and attaching the loop to a scale. Leave
the fish in the water while tying a loop and never puncture the fish mouth with the scale.

- It is requested that a 3/0 worm hook be used with the exception of fly fishing.
-
- No bank fishing except on wharf.
-
- If a fish swallows a hook, cut the line and leave it in the fish.
-
- Please report all fish losses or unusual conditions as they occur.
-
- Members who wish to night fish may do so only on the low wharfs at the lodges where flood
lights can provide adequate lighting for proper fish handling techniques.

- There is a limit of three persons per fishing boat including the member.
-
- Boats should be replaced in the appropriated stalls after fishing and correctly plugged back up
so that the batteries may be kept charged.
-
- All debris should be removed from boats and disposed of properly.
-
- No shiners are allowed due the possibility of unsterile carp in the group of bait
shiners.
-
- Bass fishing in the boats with live bait is prohibited.
-
- All live bait is to be disposed of in the dumpster or the ditch. Please do not dump in the
fishing ponds.

IV. Big Woods Duck Hunting Rules
-
- Only 3 hunters per blind.
-
- 1 blind per key holder
-
- State hunting license(s) are required.
-
- All hunts must be booked with our office.
-
- State regulations/Laws apply to all hunts.
-
- All trash and shell debris is to be removed from stand when departing from hunt
-
- Ducks are to be cleaned at home
-
- Please cover blinds when hunt is finished
-
V. Deer Hunting House Rules
-
- For hunting practices to increase deer population, Big Woods will allow members to take only
one doe and one buck per year per key holder.
-
- All hunts for deer will be booked with the office. No exceptions
-
- Only 2 individuals in the blind per hunt.
-
- All trash and spent rounds are to be removed from stand when departing from hunt.
-
- Hunters are to wear hunter orange to prevent any accidents.
-
- All successful deer hunts must be reported to office and/or staff. (any failure to do so could
result in loss of membership(s).
-
- All state licenses and tags are required.
-
- Hunting hours are sunrise to 10:30Am and 4:15Pm to sunset.
-
- If a shot is made, all efforts to find your kill are to be made.
-
Exceptions
All members from the 2010 deer season will be given the option to maintain their
present deer stand arrangement or remove their stand and use any of the Big Woods Member blinds. All
members will be required to enter in through the main gate. Food plots will be allowed, but starting in
2011, additional regulations will be enforced by the Corp. of Engineers, as this land is part of a
Federal Mitigation Bank. All 2011 Food plots and tractor use must be approved by the office. Feeders and
minerals subsidies are preferred.
VI. Other Hunting Rules
-
- Hunters have no limits on hogs.
-
- All big game kills must be reported.
-
- No other big game besides deer or hog should be taken.
-
- All hunting is to be done in assigned areas, whether it is big or small game.
-
- Big Woods allows hunting of: Duck, Geese, Squirrel, Rabbit, Deer, and Hog only. Other than wild
hogs, predator animals will not be taken unless a threat of aggression is eminent.

- All game is to be cleaned at home. For information on local processors please ask
staff.

- Members are responsible for all hunting guest(s) and/or dog(s).
-
- Maximum number of squirrel and duck hunting guest is two (2) per key holder, and guest (1) for
personal deer hunting

- Dogs are allowed. Members are responsible for their animals.
-
- Hunting at night is against the state laws and will not be tolerated at the Big Woods
facility.
-
.22 caliber rifles are not allowed in small game hunting.
VII. Skeet Range and Rifle Range Regulations
-
- Skeet Range use must be booked with office on all occasions.
-
- Members may shoot skeet at no additional cost but are asked not to be wasteful.
-
- All shooting must be after 12:00P.M. during hunting seasons. Out of season shooting may began
after 9:00A.M.
-
- All debris and shells are to be picked up and properly disposed of after
shooting.
-
- While using skeet range, member is to be present. "No Exceptions".
-
- Maximum number of shooters at a time is 2.
-
Reminder: To all members: Please be responsible while shooting. Use good judgment.
Remember there could be others in the area. To maintain safety, shoot all targets in the designated
area.
VIII. ATV Regulations

- All Atv’s are for hunting purposes only.
-
- Atv’s are not intended for recreational riding, however may be used for utility
use.
-
- All Atv’s are to be used under adult supervision.
-
- No Mudriding or unsafe driving will be tolerated
IX.Horse Back Riding
-
- Horses are welcome for recreational riding during daylight hours.
-
- Bookings are to be made when you plan to go horseback riding.
-
- Please keep your horse in a confined area when you are not riding. Along with giving the horse
it’s needs such as water and food. "Horse corral is available on property behind willow lodge
facility"

- Clean up any mess made by your animal. Thank you.

X.Camping
-
- All Camping is to be booked with Management
-
- Fires are to be put out for safety of the land.
-
- All trash is to be properly disposed of.
-
*All rules and regulations are established to enhance your stay at the
facility, so that you may enjoy every second you are with us. Any abuse or failure to follow the Big Woods
guidelines will be frowned upon and could result in loss of membership. Fish removal along
with deer hunting violations will not be tolerated.
